The futon mattress is a traditional Japanese mattress. So if you like your bedroom atmosphere surrounded by Japanese furniture, futon mattress is the perfect additional for your bedroom furnitures. What settings you should consider before buying a futon? Here’s everything you need to know not to fool you on your choice of futon.

The reason why buy a futon?

In this day and age, the futon is increasingly popular in European countries for several reasons. Firstly, we love it for its comfort as it adapts to the morphology of its users, particularly the cotton model. Moreover, the futon is naturally equipped with a thermal regulator: in summer it offers more freshness and in winter it is warm. On the other hand, the futon is for small spaces: we can roll up and unroll when you want because it is flexible.

Furthermore, the futon is acclaimed for material with which it is designed. Indeed, it does not use plastic to make the futon, which is ideal for people who adopt ecological principles and for their own health and for the future of the planet. In addition, among the plant materials entering the manufacturing futon, some treat the mattress against bacteria and mites. Finally, it is clear that despite all its qualities, the futon is cheaper than a conventional mattress in most cases. To develop a model, it takes between 170 and 300 €.

How to choose a futon?

If you like soft mattresses well, we can only advise the futon traditional cotton flower. Generally, the futon cotton gives better comfort if it is placed on a tatami mat, rather than slats. However, if you have back problems, the futon cotton will be less appropriate for you. As you need a firmer mattress for correct posture, use the futon revisited: one that is made from coconut. You can put either by land or in a tatami or on slats.

Besides the material, the thickness is also a criterion to consider before buying a futon. For small spaces, we select the thinner futons. To save space, make the model 10 to 12 cm thick easier to wrap and carry. In choosing a futon this thick, you can transform a living room into a bedroom at night, especially as the futon arises often on the floor. If you have the opportunity to put your futon in a fixed bed or a sofa, choose rather than 15 to 18 cm, giving you more comfort. In principle, futons have this thick coconut.
