From designer “Situated on a ridge above the east coast, this house offers spectacular views of Poverty Bay right around Tatapouri Point. This clings only single storey house on the floor as he steps down the hill and then it reaches the edge of the ridge it opens otwards the sea to become a forum for viewing. Customers have demanded a home that can accommodate an extended family, but one hand to others who would also be comfortable if only two of them were at home. This resulted in a plan essentially T-shaped with two wings, one of which could theoretically be closed. This form has a sheltered location protected against easterly winds and nor-eastely but still closely tied to the view through the transparent wing of life. The landscaping and decks extend horizontally from the house to the land of the house on the site and also to create a series of layers exterior spaces.”
